The City of Hamilton, University of Toronto and Hoskin Scientific are among a long list of partners involved in a local environmental research study.
Grad students from U of T use some of the most sophisticated tools to aide in their water analysis. The HSPALink 2-Way Logging Transmitter and the EXO2 Sonde with Total Algae Sensor are the instruments of choice when it comes to routine water quality testing.
A member of our staff was on-site at the local pumping station to facilitate training for the EXO2. Raw water from Lake Ontario is drawn in by this facility and subsequently treated to the highest standards in order to be safe, potable, drinking water for the local community. The research study aims to log and test the raw water in an effort to learn more about naturally occurring algae and other native species found in Lake Ontario.
The pictures below offer you a glimpse inside the pumping station.
